WHAT TO DO IF YOUR CAT GOES MISSING?
1. Please notify us on 01625 425637. If a cat is brought in matching the description we will contact you.
2. Please notify your microchip company.
If your cat was micro chipped with us before February 2018 then you will need to contact Petlog – 01625 336 579
If your cat was micro chipped with us after February 2018 then you will need to contact Pet Trac – 0800 652 997
They will put an alert on your cats file so that the details cannot be changed by someone claiming to be the new owner.
3. You may wish to create a post on Facebook about your missing pet. Please tag Bond Street Veterinary Clinic in the photo in order to reach a larger audience. Alternatively you could share your post to our wall.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU FIND A STRAY CAT
1. Carefully consider whether to feed a ‘stray cat’. Just because a cat seems hungry does not mean it’s a stray, Cats are opportunists and if the food you feed is tastier than they get at home, they might decide to move in with you instead. Remember that some cats may be on a strict prescription or weight loss diet.
2. If you are concerned that the cat is injured, ill or malnourished then please contact the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999. If they feel the animal needs veterinary treatment they will give you an RSPCA log number which will help towards payment of veterinary fees.
3. If the cat is healthy and it is safe to transport then please bring it into the surgery to be scanned for a microchip. Hopefully it will be chipped and we’ll be able to reunite it with its owner.
4. If the cat is not chipped, healthy and doesn’t match any missing cat reports, we will request you re-release it where you found it. We will fit a paper collar with your phone number on, so if the cat returns to its owner, they will be able to contact you.
5. We will also take a photograph of the cat and create a Facebook post in the hope of finding the owner.
6. You can download a free found form from the RSPCA website to post through neighbours doors and pin up around your local area.https://www.rspca.org.uk/adviceandwelfa…/pets/cats/straycats
7. Report the cat as found to other local veterinary surgeons;
Wright & Morten Veterinary Surgeons – 01625 501500
Broken Cross Veterinary Surgery – 01625 668536
Tytherington Veterinary Centre – 01625 669666
Vets4Pets Macclesfield – 01625 616446
Bollington Veterinary Centre – 01625 572999
Vets Now (out of hours) – 01625 836569
8. If there is no response after a week then it is reasonable keep the cat as your own should you wish. However once you start to feed the cat it is no longer a stray and you take on full responsibility for its care.
